Practicá tu Inglés con FGP!!

. Hoy practicamos Past Simple con un gran clásico de Elvis Presley: Always on my mind.

. Put the verbs into the past simple; then listen and check (find the answers below the song).

Maybe I (not treat) ............................ you
Quite as good as I should have
Maybe I (not love) .................... you
Quite as often as I could have
Little things I should have said and done
I just never (take) ................  the time

You (be) ..................... always on my mind

Maybe I (not hold) ................. you
All those lonely, lonely times
And I guess I never (tell) ....................... you
I'm so happy that you're mine
If I make you feel second best
Girl, I'm sorry I (be) ................ blind

You (be) ....................... always on my mind

Tell me, tell me that your sweet love hasn't died
Give me, give me one more chance
To keep you satisfied, satisfied

Little things I should have said and done
I just never (take) .................. the time
You (be) ....................always on my mind

Happy St Patrick's day!!

Saint Patrick's Day is a cultural and religious holiday celebrated on 17 March. It commemorates Saint Patrick (c. AD 387–461), the most commonly recognised of the patron saints of Ireland, and the arrival of Christianity in Ireland. Saint Patrick's Day was made an official feast day in the early seventeenth century, and has gradually become a celebration of Irish culture in general.
The day is generally characterised by the attendance of church services wearing of green attire and the lifting of Lenten restrictions on eating, and drinking alcohol which is often proscribed during the rest of the season.
Today, St. Patrick's Day is probably the most widely celebrated saint's day in the world.
In Argentina, and especially in Buenos Aires, long parties are celebrated in designated streets, since the weather is comfortably warm in March. People dance and drink only beer throughout the night, many people wear something green. In Buenos Aires, the party is held in the downtown street of Reconquista, where there are several Irish pubs.

. Hoy practicamos Past Simple con una muy buena canción de Ariana Grande: One Last Time.

. Put the verbs into the past simple; then listen and check (find the answers below the song).

I ………….. a liar                                                     BE
I …………… into the fire                           GIVE
I know I should've fought it
At least I'm being honest
Feel like a failure
'Cause I know that I …………… you         FAIL
I should've done you better
'Cause you don't want a liar (come on)

And I know, and I know, and I know
She gives you everything but boy I ……………. give it to you   CAN`T
And I know, and I know, and I know
That you ………….. everything                GET
But I ……….. nothing here without you     GET

So one last time
I need to be the one who takes you home
One more time
I promise after that, I'll let you go
Baby I don't care if you ………. her in your heart         GET
All I really care is you wake up in my arms
One last time
I need to be the one who takes you home

I don't deserve it
I know I don't deserve it
But stay with me a minute
I'll swear I'll make it worth it
Can't you forgive me
At least just temporarily
I know that this is my fault
I should have been more careful (come on)

I know I shouldn't fight it
At least I'm being honest
Just stay with me a minute
I swear I'll make it worth it
'Cause I don't want to be without you

Happy Women´s Day!!!

Do you know why it is celebrated on March 8th? Read and find it out:

The first International Women’s Day occurred on March 19 in 1911. The March 19 date was chosen because it commemorated the day that the Prussian king promised to introduce votes for women in 1848. The promise gave hope for equality but it was a promise that he failed to keep. Then, in 1913, The International Women’s Day date was moved to March 8. Since then, it has been held on March 8 to celebrate women’s achievements throughout history and across nations. It is also known as the United Nations (UN) Day for Women’s Rights and International Peace.
