GRAMMAR TIP: COMPARATIVES.

. Use comparative adjectives + than to compare 2 people, places, things.

Argentina is bigger than Chile.
The Nile is longer than the Amazon.

. HOW TO MAKE COMPARATIVE ADJECTIVES.

. SHORT ADJECTIVES: adjectives + er: short adjectives are adjectives which have 1 syllable or 2 syllables ending in 'y' (in pronunciation). For example:

white  whiter                     large  larger                    friendly   friendlier

Spelling Rule: If the adjective starting from the last letter finishes in consonant, vowel, consonant, the last consonant is doubled. For example:

hot   hotter                     big    bigger

. LONG ADJECTIVES: more + adjective: long adjectives are adjectives having 2 syllables (not ending in `y`), 3 or more syllables (in pronunciation). For example:

expensive     more expensive                           comfortable    more comfortable

. IRREGULAR ADJECTIVES: They don`t follow the above-mentioned rules. For example:

good better          bad worse                 far further

. Usamos el pasado simple para acciones que ya terminaron.

Yesterday I watched tv.

. Formamos el pasado de los verbos regulares agregándole 'ed' al infinitivo. Por ejemplo:

work worked                                           play played

.El pasado es el mismo para todas las personas. Ejemplo: I watched..., she watched..., they watched..., etc.

. Usamos los siguientes adverbios con el pasado simple: yesterday, last week, last month, last year etc.

TURN the VOLUME down.

PLEASE, TURN it DOWN!

RULE: When the object is a noun, we stressed the verb and the object, but when the object is a pronoun, we stressed the verb and the particle.

. BLOW YOUR OWN TRUMPET: (informal) boast; praise your own abilities and achievements 
He`s always BLOWING HIS OWN TRUMPET. He tells everyone how wonderful he is.

. FACE THE MUSIC: (informal) to accept and deal with criticism or punishment for something you have done.
The others ran away, leaving him to FACE THE MUSIC. He got punished for what they had all done.

. MUSIC TO MY EARS: news or information that you are very peased to hear.
When I heard the news it was MUSIC TO MY EARS. It was exactly what I wanted to hear.

Los chicos imaginaron su aula ideal, pensaron qué cosas le gustaría que tenga; dibujaron, cortaron dibujos de las revistas y después etiquetaron cada objeto. El objetivo repasar el vocabulario visto en las primeras unidades en forma creativa. Muy buenos trabajos!!!
