. Usamos be going to + verbo (infinitivo) para hablar de planes futuros y predicciones.

It's very cloudy. I think it's going to rain (prediction)

Next year I'm going to start university. (plan)

. Cuando hablamos usamos contracciones; I´m, she's, they're, etc..

. Informalmente podemos usar GONNA en vez de going to: I'm gonna play tennis tomorrow.

. Con el verbo go, podemos decir: I´m going to go o I'm going

. Usamos los siguientes adverbios con going to: tomorrow, next week, next month, etc.

. Trip: a journey to a place, you can go either for a  holiday or on business, stay there, and comeback again.

In AmE trip is used instead of journey for a short distance: The trip takes about 45 minutes.

Los genes y la inteligencia.

La mayoría de los estudiantes están teniendo la impresión de que el estudio es algo aburrido y tedioso.LAS PERSONAS INTELIGENTES SUELEN SER AQUELLOS QUE TIENEN UNA ACTITUD POSITIVA HACIA EL APRENDIZAJE. Y mientras que el potencial de cada uno para la inteligencia ya está predeterminada por sus genes, este potencial puede verse influenciado por factores externos, tales como la influencia de los profesores, maestros.

Factores externos que afectan la inteligencia.

Las primeras impresiones son muy importantes. De la misma manera que primero nos enteramos que debemos permanecer lejos del fuego para no quemarnos con algo caliente, también, creamos impresiones acerca de los estudios en función de las primeras experiencias. Si el profesor presenta la idea que aprender Inglés es una responsabilidad, entonces el estudiante puede verla como tal y puede rechazarla a favor de cosas más agradables, como jugar, por ejemplo. Sin embargo, SI EL MAESTRO PRESENTA EL APRENDIZAJE DE INGLÉS COMO ALGO DIVERTIDO Y AGRADABLE DESDE EL PRINCIPIO, ENTONCES EL ESTUDIANTE TIENE UNA ACTITUD POSITIVA HACIA EL IDIOMA. Y si el estudiante tiene una actitud positiva hacia el aprendizaje de Inglés, SERÁ MÁS RECEPTIVO HACIA LA INFORMACIÓN NUEVA Y ESTARÁ MÁS DISPUESTO A APRENDER COSAS NUEVAS, lo cuál, contribuye a su propio desarrollo y le ayuda a alcanzar su verdadero potencial.

Además, si uno intenta darse cuenta, las cosas que le interesan normalmente permanecen en la cabeza por más tiempo que las cosas que le resultan aburridas. Si un estudiante tiene una actitud negativa hacia el aprendizaje, entonces cualquier cosa que se le presentó para el estudio sería clasificado de forma automática como "aburrido". Sin embargo, si el aprendizaje se le presenta a él como algo divertido, entonces es más probable que encuentre algo que realmente le interesa porque no va a estar con la mente cerrada sobre los temas que se les enseñan. Por lo tanto, HAY JUEGOS, CANCIONES, ACTIVIDADES PARA EL APRENDIZAJE DE INGLÉS QUE LOS PROFESORES PUEDEN Y DEBEN UTILIZAR, YA QUE APRENDER INGLÉS DEBE SER DIVERTIDO CON EL FIN DE AYUDARLES A COMPRENDER MEJOR EL IDIOMA. HAPPY ST PATRICK'S DAY!!!

 Aprendemos un poco sobre San Patricio (texto en inglés y castellano).

Saint Patrick's Day is a cultural and religious holiday celebrated on 17 March. It commemorates Saint Patrick (c. AD 387–461), the most commonly recognised of the patron saints of Ireland, and the arrival of Christianity in Ireland. Saint Patrick's Day was made an official feast day in the early seventeenth century, and has gradually become a celebration of Irish culture in general.
    The day is generally characterised by the attendance of church services wearing of green attire and the lifting of Lenten restrictions on eating, and drinking alcohol which is often proscribed during the rest of the season.
    Today, St. Patrick's Day is probably the most widely celebrated saint's day in the world.
    In Argentina, and especially in Buenos Aires, long parties are celebrated in designated streets, since the weather is comfortably warm in March. People dance and drink only beer throughout the night, many people wear something green. In Buenos Aires, the party is held in the downtown street of Reconquista, where there are several Irish pubs.


    El día de San Patricio es un feriado religioso y cultural que se celebra el 17 de marzo. Conmemora al Santo Patricio, el más reconocido de los santos patronos de Irlanda, y el arribo del Cristianismo a Irlanda. A principios del siglo 17 esta fecha se transformó en un día festivo oficial, y gradualmente se ha transformado en una celebración de la cultura irlandesa en general.
    Este día se caracteriza por la concurrencia de la gente a las iglesias usando atuendos verdes.
    En Argentina, y especialmente Buenos Aires, se celebran fiestas en determinadas calles, ya que el clima es agradable en marzo. La gente toma cerveza toda la noche, y mucha gente usa algo verde. En Buenos Aires, la fiesta se celebra en la calle Reconquista, donde hay muchos pubs irlandeses.

Happy Women`s day!!!

 Feliz Día de la Mujer!!! ¿ Sabés por qué se festeja el 8 de marzo? Lee y enterate (texto en inglés y castellano):   

   The first International Women’s Day occurred on March 19 in 1911. The March 19 date was chosen because it commemorated the day that the Prussian king promised to introduce votes for women in 1848. The promise gave hope for equality but it was a promise that he failed to keep. Then, in 1913, The International Women’s Day date was moved to March 8. Since then, it has been held on March 8 to celebrate women’s achievements throughout history and across nations. It is also known as the United Nations (UN) Day for Women’s Rights and International Peace.

    El primer Día de la Mujer fue celebrado el 19 de marzo de 1911. Esta fecha fue elegida porque conmemoraba el día que el rey de Prusia prometió incorporar el voto femenino en 1848. Esta promesa daba esperanza de igualdad entre el hombre y la mujer, pero el rey rompió esta promesa. En 1913 se empezó a celebrar el Día de la Mujer el 8 de marzo. En este día se celebra los logros que las mujeres han alcanzado a través del tiempo en todo el mundo.  Vocabulary: False Friends

FALSE FRIENDS are words that look similar to words in your own language so you can wrongly assume that the meaning is the same. ( son palabras que son muy parecidas a una palabra en castellano pero tienen otro significado).

Here we give you three examples: 

. Formidable: causing fear, difficult to achieve (que causa miedo, difícil de lograr).
To prepare for that difficult exam in only 3 months! That`s a formidable task! I don´t think I can do it. (Prepararse para ese examen difícil en sólo 3 meses! Eso es algo difícil de lograr! No creo que pueda hacerlo.)

. Wonderful: very good, pleasant or enjoyable (muy bueno, maravilloso).
She's a wonderful person. Everyone likes and admires her. (Ella es una persona maravillosa; todos la admiran.)



. Assist: help (ayudar).
The police called for members of the public to assist in the investigation. (La policía llamó a miembros del público oara que ayuden en la investigación).

. Attend: be present at  (asistir, ir a)
We hope a large number of people attend the conference next week. (Esperamos que mucha gente vaya a la conferencia la semana que viene).



. Sympathetic: showing sympathy or understanding, willing to listen to others' problem (adjetivo que describe a una persona que siempre está dispuesta a escuchar a los otros cuando tienen problemas).
He`s usually rather impatient and unfriendly, but I must say he was very sympathetic when I told him about my family problems.

. Nice: pleasant (simpática, agradable).
It was a nice party, I enjoyed it very much.
